Important: You cannot have duplicate Contact Identifiers (Donor ID) when importing contacts. The Donor ID is the unique key for each contact record.
If you need to change a Donor ID:
You’ll need to update it manually using the following steps:
Go to Stewardship & Donor Management > Contacts > Contacts.
Click the Name hyperlink for the contact you want to edit.
In the Contact View, locate the General Information section.
Click the edit pencil icon.
Update the Contact ID field to the new value.
Click Update to save your changes.
Need to update many Donor IDs?
If a bulk update is needed, please submit a request to Engineering to process the changes on the back-end.
